Should I Unlock Content to Boost Newsletter Subscriptions?

Hey y'all (particularly local newsletter owners who would wanna chime in), I've been contemplating my subscription flow and realize that I have been gating a lot of my content for potential viewers. I've noticed that this has created a dedicated reader base of 200+, with average open rate of 57-60% in our first four issues. Do you think that because of my lack of established content, it would be better to unlock my content for viewers to read and make their decision to subscribe after? Currently, I have a subscription wall that begins after the intro of every issue except my most recent one.
