Resources for Getting Started with Affiliate Linking

I want to learn more about affiliate linking. It seems like a solid monetization options for StumptownSavings.com, in addition to sponsorships and membership. But I have zero experience with it. Rather than going down a Google hole of potentially misleading or bad info, I wanted to see if any of y'all could point me to go-to guides y'all have used on what to know about affiliate linking and how to get started.
