Setting Fallbacks for Merge Tags in Newsletters

Just saw the cool email about Merge Tags, and I’m wondering: Is there a way to set a fallback? That is, if I start off a newsletter with “Hi {{first_name}}!” but the recipient doesn’t has an empty field for first_name, then the intro reads “Hi !” with that uncomfortable space in there. If I could set a fallback to “subscriber” or something, then I could avoid such awkwardness. Possible?

You can try it out with the preview by simulating a subscriber to see the first name and without simulating you should see the fallback
