Personalizing Box Scores for Newsletters: Tips and Suggestions

·
·

Hey all — I run a baseball newsletter called Pine Tar Letter. With the regular season starting up soon, something I'd really like to do is to provide box scores from the previous day's game for subscribers who — during signup — identified a favorite team. A nice personalization to help boost open rate & drive more of a habit/loyalty among my subscribers. How would you all suggest I go about doing this? This post on beehiiv suggests that some personalization of images or content can be accomplished, but it doesn't walk the reader through the steps of how to do it.

Once you've set up your segments, it's time to deploy dynamic content into your emails using beehiiv. This can be done by connecting data points from your customer profiles and mapping them to the corresponding placeholders in your template. Once connected, beehiiv will automatically pull relevant information for each recipient and insert it into the right places as soon as they open the email.

What am I missing here? Any suggestions or ideas?

Really hoping someone on this slack can shed some light here, but Richard W. I'm going to take a crack at figuring this out either way this week. I'll share what I learn. I'm a subscriber btw — dig your newsletter.

We don't support dynamic content yet. Our dynamic capabilities are for user personalization, such as first name and biographical details. More over it depends on what you have in mind in terms of the personalization. Is this a text field or more complex like HTML widget etc?

Noted. I built a solution that leverages custom fields to dynamically insert box scores (text) from a subscriber's favorite team using merge tags.
