Discrepancy in Beehiiv's Bulk Update Instructions for Custom Fields

Β·

Related to the question I published earlier β€” I'm going in to bulk-update a custom field, but I'm seeing a discrepancy with how Beehiiv says to do it and what the page actually looks like. Beehiiv's instructions;

You can bulk update custom fields using a CSV file. To do so, import your CSV to your account at Settings > Subscribers Import. During the import process, when in the Choose Columns to Import step, check the option to Overwrite existing custom field data on import. Enabling this option will allow you to update the custom field data for your existing subscribers using data from the CSV file.

Beehiiv shows this dialog box popping up where you can select which field you're updating. But on that page, and as I'm going through the workflow, I'm not seeing that box pop up. maybe it's just one click away, but I don't want to duplicate my subscriber list needlessly. What I'm seeing (reference images): Can anyone advise? Is the method referenced by beehiiv still the way to go about bulk-updating custom fields?

    For posterity β€” The option to map custom fields to your extra columns appears after you click the 'import' button. The problem here is the Beehiiv UI copy is slightly misleading. The button titled 'Import' makes it feel like it's the final step. I shared this because I was reticent to make that final step, afraid it'd mess me up. You're good to hit that button to complete the flow.
