Using Templates Effectively: Fixing Slug and Title Issues

hey team, i’m very new here. just a few editions in. the issue i have is how to use templates effectively. i have created a template from my first edition, but when i create a new post from template it copies the slug, including the title. what am i doing wrong here? how can i fix this?

You almost have it, but what I do is copy the issue template (if I add a new Bit for example), and wipe all content used that issue, then replace it with template information (ex: Header one, Header two, drop image content blocks, etc.) then save it from there. Then, you can erase the original copy you made if you want.
