Have any of y'all had luck doing giveaways to help grow your audience? I'd love to check out your examples and learn how it worked. I just launched one for my newsletter, so hoping it works.

    Hey Bryan! I did this a few months ago with a free Masterclass pass ($250 value) and it got no traction. I'm not sure if it was my approach, timing, etc, but I sent a similar post here and the feedback I got was basically these things are a bit hit or miss. Not posting this to dissuade you and I hope you get some good advice...but wanted to share in case it helps set expectations. 🙂 In hindsight, for my newsletter it was a good experiment and I learned about my readers from it. So glad I did it.

    Thanks for this, Kevin! I have free access to this giveaway software for a bit, so figured I'd launch one. But yeah, also getting zero traction so far. I can't get anyone on Bluesky, even current followers, to subscribe. Still haven't shared it on my newsletter (will next week) but it seems like it's not going to work at all for growing my audience 😕

    I have done quite a bit of giveways. The best ones are when you gives away something that is directly tied to your newsletter

    Yeah, trying to do a book gift card giveaway because it was easy to set up, but I'm getting 0 traction so far. So wondering if I needed to give away something weird, like a sea pickle.
